Hi, I’m Dr Leanne Timings and I am a Clinical Psychologist based in Wimborne. I have worked in the NHS and private sector for over seventeen years in various clinical psychology settings. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Plymouth, a Post-Graduate qualification in Evidence-based Psychological Treatment from the University of Reading and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southampton.

I am a friendly, warm and compassionate psychologist who strives to support others to make sense of difficulties, develop understanding and new perspectives, and improve wellbeing and quality of lifeI specialise in psychological therapy with adults experiencing anxiety, phobias, depression, stress, relationship problems and adjustment difficulties. I am trained in several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained to work with a range of therapeutic models, which means I can use a personalised approach to meet your unique needs and goals for therapy. I believe that we are all unique and the way we make sense of ourselves, others and the world is often linked with our past experiences, fears, and strategies we have learned to navigate the world and other people in an attempt to feel safe.

Therapy offers a space to make sense of difficulties, develop new understanding and perspectives, and process and recover from past experiences. I understand how difficult it can be to seek therapy, so for me it is very important to develop a collaborative, empathic working relationship to help you to feel safe and work through difficulties in a way that feels manageable.
