Hi, my name is Dr Clare Evans and in between sea swims, camping adventures with my family and running the coastal paths, I work as a qualified Clinical Psychologist. I have been working in the NHS for over a decade; with people across the lifespan. I have a passion for helping people, to aid them in overcoming their struggles to then go on to reach their full potential; allowing them to live happier and fulfilled lives.
I have extensive experience with delivering both therapy and assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions of autism and ADHD. I also offer person centred one-to-one therapy using a formulation driven approach.
Therapy can initially seem like a daunting prospect; however, I strongly believe that it also represents a brave and positive step taken toward personal growth. I will help guide you, at your pace, through those initial steps to allow you to feel safe, respected and validated within the therapeutic space. We will work to build a safe and containing therapeutic alliance. I believe that this alliance is central to the development of trusting collaboration from which key changes will be derived.
Psychological therapy can help individuals gain a better understanding of themselves and also help equip them with ways to manage difficulties; leaving them feeling both validated and empowered to better deal with life's challenges.
In addition to therapeutic work, I work as part of the team to offer specialised NICE guideline contingent neurodevelopmental assessments for both autism and ADHD for both children and adults. I have specialist training in the gold standard assessments for these conditions.
In my role as a Clinical Psychologist, I have been trained and I am experienced in a wide range of evidence-based psychological therapies designed to help individuals overcome the difficulties in their lives. Such evidence-based approaches drawn on (but are not limited to) include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and basic Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
I look forward to potentially working with you or a loved one, to help reduce distress, and to feel both hopeful and empowered for the future.
